DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (2.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are three different widths (1.0 cm, 0.5 cm and 0.3 cm) and are narrower than the weft splints (1.0 cm). Most of the splints are the narrower width, there are two splints of the widest at the top and middle, these splints are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j and there is a splint of the middle width above each pair. The warp splints on the lid are also three different widths (0.3 cm, 0.5 cm and 0.9 cm) and are mostly wider than the weft splints (0.4 cm). The narrowest width covers most of the top of the lid while the middle width is on the sides. The widest splints are on the edge of the top and are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. In the middle of the lid there is a wood splint ring. The rim of the basket and the lid are single bound wood splint. Collections
