DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (4.0 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints are three different widths (1.0 cm, 0.5 cm and 1.8 cm) the weft splints are one width (1.9 cm). Most of the warp splints are the middle width, there is a single narrower splint near the bottom and two splints of the widest at the top that is bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. The warp splints on the lid are also three different widths (0.4 cm, 0.8 cm and 1.2 cm) and the weft splint alternate between two widths (1.0 cm and 0.4 cm). On the top of the lid is a wave like row of diamond jikiji’j. The rim of the basket and the lid are single bound wood splint. Collections
