DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (4.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are two different widths (1.2 cm and 1.5 cm) and are narrower than the weft splints which alternate between two widths (2.4 cm and 1.5 cm). Near the top of the basket there are two splints of the narrower wap width that are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. The weft splint on the lid also alternate between two widths (2.2 cm and 1.4 cm). The warp splints on the lid are three different widths (0.4 cm, 0.8 cm and 1.1 cm. The widest are near the edge and are decorated with a row of jikiji’j. The rim of the basket and the lid are single bound wood splint. Collections
