DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (4.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are two different widths (1.5 cm and 0.3 cm) and are narrower than the weft splints (1.8 cm). The narrower splints are around the middle with the wider on either side. The wide splints around the bottom are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. The warp splint on the lid are three different widths (0.4 cm, 1.0 cm and 1.4) while the weft splints narrow toward the middle of the lid starting at 1.8 cm near the edge down to 0.5 cm at the center. The widest warp splints are on the sides of the lid and are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. About half way from the middle to the edge of the lid top is the middle width with another row of jikiji’j. In the middle of the lid is several rows of sweet grass. In the middle of the lid is a wood splint wrapped ring. The rim of the basket is single bound wood splint and the rim of the lid is single wrapped sweet grass. Collections
