DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (3.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are two widths (0.3 cm and 1.2 cm) and are narrower than the weft splints (1.5 cm). The wider warp splints are located around the middle of the basket and near the top. The splints at the top are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. The warp splints on the lid are three different widths (0.2 cm, 0.5cm and 1.2 cm) and the weft splints alternate between two widths (0.5 cm and 1.2 cm). The width of the warp splint narrows toward the middle of the lid. On the top of the lid there is a row of diamond jikiji’j around the edge and a second row of jikiji’j closer to the center. The rim of the basket and the lid are single bound wood splint.
