DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (5.0 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are two widths (1.4 cm and 2.5 cm) and are narrower than the weft splints (2.7 cm). The wider warp splints are near the top and are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. The warp splints on the lid are two different widths (1.4 cm and 0.6 cm) and the weft are all one width (1.3 cm) the narrower warp splints are closer to the center of the basket and around the edge of the top of the basket is a wave like row of diamond jikiji’j. The rim of the basket is double bound wood splint and the rim of the lid is double wrapped around a stick. Collections
