DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (2.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are two widths (0.5 cm and 0.9 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.5 cm). the warp splints on the lid are also two widths (0.4 cm and 0.9 cm). The weft splints on the lid alternate between two widths (1.3 cm and 0.9 cm). The wider splints on the basket are at the top and around the middle of the basket around the top of there is a row of diamond jikiji’j and around the middle is a wave like pattern of diamond jikiji’j. The wider warp splints on the lid are at the edge of the top and are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. The rim of the basket is double wrapped wood splints and the lid is single bound wood splint. Collections
