DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The lid is circular as well (2.0 cm). In the center of the lid is a small single wrapped loop handle. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp splints on the basket and the lid (0.2 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.0 cm). The basket is laid out with several row of narrow splints above two rows of wider splints (0.6 cm), followed by several rows of sweet grass, two rows of wider splints and several rows of narrower splints. Between the rows of the wider splints is a single narrow splint. The wider splints are decorated with jikiji’j. The lid is laied out in concentric rings sweet grass, wider splints, sweet grass, wider splints and narrower splints. The wider splint on the lid are also decorated with jikiji’j. The wider splints are dyed pink. The rim of the basket and the lid are single wrapped sweet grass. Attached to the underside of the lid is a single wood splint (1.7 cm) that is single wrapped.Collections
