DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (2.9 cm high). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp splints on the basket (0.4 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (0.6 cm). Around the middle of the basket is several rows of sweet grass. Around the top and bottom of the basket is two wider warp splint (1.2 cm) between which is a row of diamond jikiji’j. The lid is flat most of the warp splints (0.9 cm) are wider than the weft (0.6 cm). Close to the edge of the rim is two rows of narrower warp splints (0.5 cm) between which is a row of diamond jikiji’j. Near the center of the basket and around the edge is several layers of sweet grass. The rim of the basket and lid are single wrapped sweet grass. Most of the warp splints and all of the weft are undyed. The rows were the jikiji’j are have been dyed pink. Collections
