DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid that has curls of wood splints in a bow like design and a ring on top. The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp splints on the basket (0.4 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (2.0 cm). Around the center of the basket is two wider wood splints (2.1 cm). Between the wider splints is a row of diamond jikiji’j. The warp splint on the lid are the same narrower splints as on the basket, the weft splints widen as they move outward from the center. Around the edge of the lid is three rows of braided sweet grass. The rim of the basket is single wrapped sweet grass wrapped with wood splints. The rim of the lid is single wrapped sweet grass rapped with black thread. The rig on the top is single wrapped braided sweet grass. The warp and weft splints on the basket alternate between being dyed yellow and being undyed. The weft on the lid also alternate between dyed yellow and undyed. Most of warp splint are dyed yellow two are dyed purple and the remainder are undyed. Collections
