DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (7.5 cm high). Both the lid and the bottom of the basket are domed. The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp splints on the basket (1.9 cm) are wider than the weft splints (1.7 cm). Around the middle of the basket is four rows of narrower splints (0.2 cm). Around the bottom of the basket between two of the wider rows is a row of jikiji’j. The lid is domed mostly consisting of narrower warp splint but the sides are wider (1.0 cm) warp splint. The weft splint widen toward the edge. On the side of the lid is a row of jikiji’ that match the ones on the basket. About half way between the center of the lid and the rim is a row of diamond jikiji’j. The wider warp splint on the basket are dyed pink, and the narrower warp splints as well as the wrap on the rim are dyed green. The outer warp splints on the lid are dyed pink and the inner splints alternate between green and pink. The rim of the basket is single wrapped wood splint and the rim on the lid is single wrapped sweet grass. Collections
