DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (4.0 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket and lid are two widths (0.3 cm and 1.5 cm) while the weft splints are different on the basket (1.5 cm) than on the lid (1.7 cm). On the bakset the narrower splints are around the middle and bottom with a row of jikiji’j between the bunches of narrower splints. On the lid the wider splints are on the side of the lid and near the edge. With rows of different jikiji’j on the wider splints the rest are the narrower splints. In the middle of the lid is several rows of sweet grass and wood splints folded to form a bow. On the basket the narrower splints are dyed green and the wider splints are dyed pink. On the lid most of the warp splints are dyed pink with the exception of the wider splints on the top of the lid which are dyed green. The rim of the basket is single bound wood splint and the rim of the lid is single wrapped sweet grass. Collections
