DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (5.5 cm high). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket and lid (0.4 and 1.7 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (2.1 cm). Around the middle of the basket is eight rows of the narrower splints. Around the bottom of the basket between two of the wider rows is a row of diamond jikiji’j. The lid mostly consists of the narrower warp splints but the sides are the wider warp splint. The weft splints on the lid widen toward the edge. On the side of the lid is a row of diamond jikiji’ that match the ones on the basket. The wider warp splint as well as two rows of the narrower splint on the lid are dyed pink. The jikiji’j are dyed green and rest are undyed. In the center of the lid is several rows of sweet grass and at the center is a wood splint that is bent to form a bow that is dyed red. The rim on the basket and lid are single wrapped wood splints.
