DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (7.0 cm high). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp splints on the basket and lid (0.4 cm) are narrower than weft splints (1.7 cm). Around the center of the basket is two rows of wider splints (1.7 cm) between which is a row of diamond jikiji’j. On the lid at the edge and near the center is a row of loops woven into the lid. In the center of the lid is a looped wood splint bow. The narrower warp splints are all dyed purple and the weft splints alternate between being dyed purple and being undyed. The rim of the basket is single wrapped splints while the rim on the lid is single wrapped sweet grass. Collections
