DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The sides are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (9.0 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are two widths (1.2 cm and 0.5 cm) while the weft splint are one width (1.0 cm). The lower part of the basket is covered in jikiji’j and a diamond pattern of mini baskets. The upper portion of the basket has the has the narrower warp splints that alternate with braided sweet grass. Hanging from the rim of the basket is a row of mini baskets. The warp splints on the lid are also two different widths (0.8 cm and 0.4 cm) that are narrower than the weft splints (1.0 cm) The lid is decorated in a similar way to the basket. With the lower portion covered in jikiji’j and a diamond pattern of mini baskets and the upper part has braided sweet grass and the narrower warp splints. The rim of the basket and the lid are single bound sweet grass. Collections
