DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side flare forming a larger circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (3.0 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints of the basket (0.5 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (0.8 cm). At the top of the basket is a single wider warp splint (0.9 cm). Around the bottom of the basket is several rows of braided sweet grass and a row of jikiji’j. The warp splints alternate with braided sweet grass that cross over the weft splint on an angle. The warp splints on the lid (0.3 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (0.7 cm) there is also a wider warp splint (0.4 cm) near the middle of the top of the basket that has a row of jikiji’j along it. The warp on the side of the lid is braided sweet grass there are wood splints on the top of the basket as well as sweet grass in the center of the lid. There is also a wood splint wrapped ring in the center of the lid. The rim of the basket is single bound wood splint and the rim of the lid is single bound sweet grass. Collections
