The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp strands alternate widths. The widest are slightly wider than the weft splints (1.7 cm). The rim of the basket is wood splints nailed to the weft splints. The basket has a single curved handle that is attached to the basket with a single nail on each side into the rim.
