DescriptionWoven basket with a rectangular base. The side are slightly flared to form a larger rectangular opening. The basket has two squared hinged handles. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp strands (0.8 cm) are significantly narrower than the weft strands (2.7 cm). The rim of the basket consists of wood splints nailed to the weft strands. The basket has two squared handles that are attached to the basket with a single nail on each side into the rim. These nails act as hinges. The bottom and some of the warp splints on the sides are dyed purpleCollections
