DescriptionWoven basket with a rectangular base. The side are slightly flared to form a larger rectangular opening. The basket has two squared hinged handles. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp strands (1.3 cm) are slightly narrower than the weft strands (1.8 cm). Near the top of the basket is a single narrower warp splint. Over this row is a row of X-shaped jikiji’j that sit over ever other weft splint. The rim of the basket is a single bound wood splint. The basket has two squared handles that are attached to the basket with a single nail on each side into the rim. These nails act as hinges.Collections
