DescriptionWoven basket with a rectangular base. The side are slightly flared to form a larger rectangular opening. The basket has two squared hinged handles. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp strands (0.9 cm) are significantly narrower than the weft strands (1.8 cm). Four warp strands from the top is a single wider warp strand (1.2 cm). The basket rim consists of wood splints that are nailed to the weft strands. The basket has two squared handles that are attached to the basket with a single nail on each side into the rim. Under the nails in the handles is a thin circle of metal. These nails act as hinges.Collections
