Narrative
Saied and Esma Kays owned and operated S. N. Kays Groceries, located at the corner of Pownal and Richmond streets, in Charlottetown. The family business was one of many Lebanese grocers that were a common sight in neighbourhoods around the city, including two other stores owned by two other Kays brothers. S. N. Groceries was a Charlottetown staple for more than 50 years, only closing when Saied passed away in 1977.

After Saied's passing, his family discovered that for years Saied had often given away groceries to people who couldn't always afford to pay. One former customer came in after his death to settle their account because they were so appreciative of Saied's understanding when they needed some help.
