DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are flare to form a larger circular opening. The basket has a single rounded handle that is narrower where it connects to the basket than where it would be held. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp strands (0.3 cm) are narrower than the weft strands (1.3 cm). The weft splints are narrower at the bottom and widen toward the top. Around are top are two warp splints that are wider with a row of diamond jikiji’j between them. Around the bottom is another wider warp splint with another row of jikiji’j. The rim of the basket is a single bound sweet grass. The handle is notched where it meets the rim. The handle widens toward the top where it would be held. Collections
