DescriptionWoven basket with a rectangular base. The basket forms a crescent shape with one concave side and one convex side. On the concave side is two small D-shaped handles. On the convex side is a single peg like handle.The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints (0.9 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (2.1 cm). The rim of the basket is a single wrapped wood splint. The bottom of the basket is lined with canvas. Attached to one side of the basket is two D-shaped loops one of which is wrapped in rope. On the other side of the basket is a single peg-like handle that is notched where it meets the rim. All three handles/loops are woven into the basket with the weft splints. Collections
