DescriptionWoven basket with a rectangular base. The side are flared forming a larger rectangular opening. On one side of the basket is a curved handle. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints (0.4 cm) are narrower than the weft strands (1.0 cm). The warp splints are two toned with alternating blocks of lighter warp splint and darker splints. The rim of the basket is a very thin wood splint that has been wrapped around a wood frame producing a spiral pattern with the grain of the wood. The handle is a single wood splint bent and woven into the basket with the weft splints. Collections
