DescriptionWoven basket with a rectangular base. The side are slightly flared to form a circular opening. The basket has a squared handle. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp strands (0.5 cm) are significantly narrower than the weft strands (1.2 cm). The weft splints are dyed yellow. Around the top of the basket are three larger warp splint (1.0 cm) that are separated by the narrower warp splints. Around the bottom is a single wider warp splint. These larger splints are dyed blue. The rim of the basket is a single bound wood splint. The basket has a single wood handle that is nailed into place on the rim and the ends are woven into the basket with the weft. Collections
