DescriptionWoven basket with a rectangular base. The side are slightly flared forming an oval opening. The basket has a curved wooden handle. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp splints (0.7 cm) are narrower than the weft strands (2.5 cm). At the corners of the basket the weft splints are split to form two separate weft splints (1.4 cm). Around the top and bottom edge of the basket are two wider warp splint (1.1 cm) that are alternated with narrower splints. The narrower splints except for the narrow splints between the wider ones are all dyed pink. The rim of the basket is single wrapped wood splint. The basket has a curved handle that has the ends woven into the basket with the weft the handle is also nailed to the rim on both sides. Collections
