DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are flared to form a larger circular opening. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints (1.7 cm) are wider than the weft splints (1.6 cm). Around the top a is a single band of a wider warp (2.0 cm) split and around the bottom there are also wider warp splint that are spaced with narrower (0.5 cm and 1.0 cm) splints. The rim of the basket is single wrapped wood splints. Printed on the bottom is "Irene Lewis Micmac Nation".This basket was made by Irene Lewis.
