DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (2.7 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are two different widths (0.5 cm and 0.8 cm) and are narrower than the weft splints (1.7 cm). The wider splints are single rows at the top and bottom while the rest of the basket is the narrower splints. The warp splints on the lid (0.5 cm) are narrower than the weft (1.6 cm). Near the middle of the lid the splints transition to sweet grass. In the middle of the lid is a wood splint wrapped ring. The rim of the basket is single bound wood splint and the rim of the lid is single wrapped sweet grass. Inside the basket is a bundle of loose sweet grass and a white paper note. Collections
