DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (2.0 cm). The basket also contains six letters and notes related to the basket. The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The top half of the basket has warp splints (0.6 cm) that are narrower than the weft splints (1.3 cm) while the warp splints on the bottom half of the basket (1.4 cm) are wider than the weft. Around the middle of the basket is a wave-like pattern of diamond jikiji’j that are dyed green. The warp splints on the lid are all one width (0.7 cm) while the weft alternate between two widths (1.2 cm and 0.7 cm). The rim of the basket is single bound wood splint and the rim of the lid is single bound sweet grass. Collections
