DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (3.0 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket (0.9 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.5 cm). Around the basket is a spiral design of diamond jikiji’j which are dyed red. The warp splints on the lid (0.7 cm and 0.9 cm) are nearly the same width as the weft splints (0.8 cm). Around the top of the lid is a wave like pattern of diamond jikiji’j that are dyed red. In the center of the lid is a curled loop of the dyed red wood splints. The rim of the basket and the lid are single bound wood splint the rim of the basket is dyed red. Collections
