DescriptionWoven wall hanging basket with a rectangular base and slightly flared sides including the back which extends beyond the height of the rest of the edge of the basket. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern with warp splints of two different widths (0.3 cm and 1.5 cm). The weft splints are all uniform is width (1.5 cm). Around the base is a two rows of diamond jikiji’j that are inserted between two rows of wider splints. Between the rows of jikiji’j is a single row of the narrow splint. The rim is single bound sweet grass bound with a wood splint. The upper part of the back is vaguely pyramid shaped. At the top of the pyramid is several rows of the narrow warp splints as well as a single bound sweet grass rim. There are also two twos of diamond jikiji’j on the back. Both are near the middle of the back. Below each of the rows of the jikiji’j is a row of the narrow splints. All of the wider warp splints are dyed green as are the narrow splints at the top of the back. Built into the top of the back is an opening that is closed with the sweetgrass rim.Collections
