DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The sides swell and narrow to form a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (2.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket (0.5 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.6 cm). Around the top is two rows of a wider warp splint (1.5 cm) that are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. There is also a pattern of warp splints bridging two weft splints to form a spiral design around the basket. The warp splints on the lid are three different widths (0.4 cm, 0.7 cm and 1.2 cm) the wider widths are on the side of the lid. The top of the lid alternates between sweet grass and the narrowest wood splints. The rim of the basket is single bound wood splint and the rim of the basket is single wrapped sweet grass.
