DescriptionWoven wall hanging basket with a circular base and slightly flared sides including the back which extends beyond the height above the rest of the edge of the basket. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern with uniform weft splints (1.3 cm) and three different width warp splints (0.3 cm, 0.8 cm and 1.7 cm). The base consists mostly of the narrowest splint with one row of the middle width near the middle. Around the top of the bottom part of the basket is two rows of the widest splints between which is a row of diamond jikiji’j. The upper part of the basket is also mostly the narrowest warp splints with two rows of the widest splints between which is a row of diamond jikiji’j. The rim is single wrapped wood splints. The entire basket has been painted with a thick paint mostly a yellow beige but the jikiji’j are painted green. Collections
