DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The sides are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (1.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket (0.7 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.4 cm). The basket is entirely covered in jikiji’j. The warp splints on the lid are two different widths (0.7 cm and 0.2 cm) and the weft splints (1.4 cm) are wider than the warp. The lid is also almost entirely covered in jikiji’j except for in the center where the splints are narrower. Attached to the bottom of the lid is a wider wood splint that is double wrapped. In the center of the lid is a bow of wood splints. The rim of the basket and the lid are single bound sweet grass. Many of the warp splints are dyed green. Collections
