DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (2.7 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket (0.4 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (0.8 cm). There are also wider warp splints (1.2 cm) around the bottom of the basket that are bridged by a row of jikiji’j. The warp splints on the lid (0.4 cm) are also narrower than the weft splints (0.7 cm). There are two rows of a wider warp splint (0.9 cm) on the sides of the lid that are bridged by a row of jikiji’j. In the center of the lid the warp splints are replaced by rows of sweet grass. And in the middle is a wood splint bow. The rim of the basket and the lid are single bound wood splint. Collections
