DescriptionRectangular fishing creel with an attached lid. The creel is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints (1.0 cm) is narrower than the weft splints (2.2 cm). The lid is woven in the same manner with narrower splints (warp 0.8 cm and weft 0.5 cm) and is attached to the creel by small pieces of wire. There are two opening at the back of the basket directly below the rim to allow for attachment and a larger opening near the front of the lid. The rims of the basket and lid are single wrapped with wood splints. Attached to the center front of the lid is a small ring and on the front of the basket is a short post, combined these hold the creel closed. Collections
