DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (3.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket (0.4 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.7 cm). The warp splints on the lid are two different width (0.8 cm and 0.4 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.5 cm) the narrower warp splints on the lid are closer to the middle of the lid. Around the middle and near the bottom of the basket is a set of three splints that are dyed red. On the lid there is a set of two splints that are dyed red near the edge of the lid, there are also several of sweet grass inside the band of red. The rim of the basket is single bound wood splint and the rim of the lid is single bound sweet grass. Collections
